As most people will tell you , the best things in ones life comes very easily and with no sturggle .
Being on the look for Hanout Boutique’s second shop for only a couple of days , I come across this beautiful unused space and fell in love at first sight.
Riad Zitoun was this busy part of the medina that continues after the Mellah and to one big touristic landmark :Palais Bahia .
Riad Zitoun El Jdid was also the way to my favourite vegetarian restaurant in Marrakech :La Famille .
The neighbourhood translate into lovely food as there are lot more yummy restaurants : Naranj the coolest Lebanese and Un Dejeuner A Marrakech Moroccan nouvelle cuisine served in their lovely terrace.
So I was sold in 5 min .
Eveything screemed Hanout Boutique in this space : The old original plaster work in the ceilling , the little Moroccan arches on the walls , the two windows on both sides of this funky lovely street and even the upstairs Mosque a couple of hundred years old .
It was /is perfect !
What’s came later was not so perfect as we had to deal with the building authorities being (quit rightly so ) very carful on not spoiling this old part of the city . We managed to get it done and the space translate our DNA : Ladies fashion with this subtle Moroccan touch.
We have been open for business now almost 6 months and we just love it !
